In 2000, the electric utilities of Black Earth and Mazomanie joined to form Vanguard Electric. Vanguard is its own entity, but is 100% funded by both villages. We have five employees--the superintendent, office manager, and three linemen--who share time between both villages. We perform all work pertaining to the construction and maintenance of power lines.
